Discover the Power of Association for Credit Unions

Today’s credit union members are more sophisticated and savvy than ever before. Gone are the days when your institution could meet members’ needs by simply housing their funds, offering low interest rate loans and promoting the advantages of CDs and other liquid investment options.

Your members are looking for an array of investment services and products that will put them in a position to reach short-term financial goals and attain long-term financial security. Our goal at Northeast Planning Associates, Inc. is to help your members achieve their goals.

With offices located throughout New England, our team of professionals is dedicated to providing you and your members high quality service and a superior financial planning experience. Whether establishing a financial foundation or building net worth, our Advisors objectively review your member’s personal and/or business situation, discuss their lifetime objectives, identify needs and make recommendations based on a comprehensive spectrum of financial topics. We believe that our objectivity can mean a world of difference when helping your members plan their financial future.

STEP 1

Establishing a Financial Services Partnership

The first step is for the Credit Union’s Senior Management to determine the need for establishing a financial services partnership with Northeast Planning Associates, Inc. (NPA). The discussion should encompass the following topics:

  • Providing comprehensive financial solutions to your members without disrupting your existing business.
  • The program needs of the Credit Union
  • The benefits associated with offering financial services to Credit Union member
  • The suite of services and product solutions available to Credit Union members through adding financial services
  • Review of the plan for integrating comprehensive financial services through NPA

STEP 2

Advisor Selection

Edward C. Hiers, President of Northeast Planning Associates, Inc. (NPA) will choose the Advisor he believes is best suited to work with the Credit Union. The Advisor will then be introduced to the President/CEO and Board of Directors of the Credit Union for their input and approval.

STEP 3

Credit Union Member / Select Employee Group (SEG) Profile

The Credit Union Member/SEG profile is an in-depth review that provides an invaluable assessment of the credit union’s infrastructure. The purpose of the profile is to gather information about your Credit Union. Information gathered will be used by NPA to build a comprehensive marketing plan. Understanding your members and their needs is essential to the success of this program.

STEP 4

Financial Institution(s)

Once it is agreed upon to move forward with the partnership between the Credit Union and NPA, a critical step is the signing of the Financial Institution Service Agreement. This is the legal document that will allow implementation of financial services to the Credit Union members.

STEP 5

Marketing Plan

The purpose of a Marketing Plan is to create an organized, efficient approach to optimize your opportunity in serving your members. Information received in the Credit Union Profile is used to build a marketing plan designed exclusively for your Credit Union. The goal is to promote member awareness of the services offered by the Financial Planning Center. As members become aware of these services, they will be more likely to turn to the Credit Union when they have a need.

STEP 6

Training

Staff awareness is a necessary component of any successful service offered at the Credit Union. Prior to announcing this new service to its members, we will first train the Credit Union staff on the products and services that we will offer the Credit Union members. This is best accomplished during a scheduled staff meeting.

STEP 7

Announcements to Members

An exciting step in the process is the announcement to your members of the Financial Services Center. We will provide you with statement stuffers, newsletter inserts and posters to highlight your new capabilities. We will also schedule a Lobby Day for the Advisor and work with the CEO in putting together a seminar schedule.
